Terms of Use

Placeholder notice: This is sample text for development. Replace it with your own policy reviewed by legal counsel before going live.

These terms govern your use of the Gold House Dental website. By browsing the site or sending us a form, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Not medical or dental advice

The information on this website is general and is published for education only. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for an examination by a licensed dentist. Every mouth is different, and what is appropriate for one patient may be unsuitable for another. Never delay seeking professional advice because of something you have read here. If you are in pain, have swelling that is spreading, or have had an injury to the face or jaw, call our office, and outside opening hours go to your nearest emergency department.

No dentist-patient relationship

Reading this site, sending a form, or exchanging email with our team does not by itself create a dentist-patient relationship. That relationship begins when you attend the office, complete a health history and are examined by one of our dentists.

Content and ownership

The text, photographs, illustrations, logos and page layouts on this site belong to Gold House Dental or to the people who licensed them to us, and they are protected by Canadian copyright law. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, keeping any notices intact. Republishing our content, using our clinical photographs, or copying material into another website or a commercial document requires our written permission. Clinical photographs are published with the written consent of the patients shown; results differ from person to person and are not a promise of a particular outcome.

Using the site properly

  • Do not attempt to reach parts of the site that are not public, or another person's information.

  • Do not upload material that is unlawful, misleading or harmful, and do not submit another person's details without their permission.

  • Do not use automated tools to scrape the site or to flood our forms.

  • Do not send confidential health details through the general contact form; bring them to your appointment or call the office instead.

Appointments and cancellations

A request sent through this website is a request, not a confirmed booking. An appointment exists once a member of our team replies by phone or email with the date and time. If you cannot attend, please give us at least two business days' notice so the time can be offered to another patient; short-notice cancellations and missed appointments may be subject to a fee, which we will explain before it is applied. Any cost or insurance coverage shown here or discussed in advance is an estimate only, and the final amount depends on your plan and on what is found at the examination.

Links to other sites

We sometimes link to health authorities, professional associations or suppliers. Those sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Availability of the site

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice, for example during maintenance. Nothing on the site is an offer to provide treatment, and a service listed here may not be available at both offices at all times.

Limits of liability

We take care to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or current at every moment. To the extent permitted by law, Gold House Dental is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general information published here, or from a technical interruption of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under British Columbia law, including liability relating to the care you receive at our offices.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and by the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. We may revise them, and the version published on this page is the one that applies. Questions can be sent through our contact page.
